At 41 years of age, and with ten introspective, beloved, but not well-know albums under his belt, Damien Jurado has achieved a sort of cult status within indie music circles, and rightly so. Brimming with talent that borders on the transcendent, Jurado's latest album, Brothers and Sisters of the Eternal Son, is another notch in an already full belt. While the album is solid as a whole, "Silver Timothy" is the standout that really hooks you and makes you take notice. It's catchy from the first note, enrapturing from the first lyric, and the chorus and rhythm provide the perfect accompaniment to each. There is something inherently addictive to his sound, and the more you try to analyze it, the more you find yourself being drawn in. "Silver Timothy" is a great song, and should serve as any launch point to the entire album, let alone his full discography.
