If there's such a thing as a subdued banger, Daktyl and The Ninetys' second track from the former's upcoming EP, 101, is it. The approach is mellow, the delivery is smooth, and it's not without an attitude of slightly grumbling bass to help bring forth the impressively stable vibes offered on the effort. The elements aren't unlike those utilized by either producer before, but the homogenization of them stinks of something refreshing in an instrumental appearing in an era in which the "bigger" sound is often crowned the best. I'll take to the quiet charisma of "Truth" tonight, though, and allow its intimate aura to guide me in splendid sonic fashion towards the evening hour.
