Pop is probably the most fickle genre there is. Nailing a good sound is not as easy as you might think, and just having a good voice is not enough. You need the complete package these days, and, obviously amazing songs. Dagny, an emerging pop artist from Tromsø, Norway, seems to be the real deal, and her just-released debut EP, Ultraviolet, helps prove just that. What makes Dagny's pop stand out is that, while it's insanely catchy and upbeat, it doesn't come off as contrived or something you feel like you've heard a thousand times. That's really how it always should be, and, as it's the case here, this EP is a must-hear for all pop fans.
