Creeper’s “It Hurts” is a slow-rolling electronic track that initially sounds like the entire song is going to be an experimental piece with its arrhythmic beats and sharp bass stabs. It’s only after you give it some time though that you realize there’s a lot more here than is initially advertised. Creeper’s vocals start to loosen things up, and then out of nowhere, ‘It Hurts” unfolds into a beautifully melodic, 80’s-inspired ballad with a flow that just kills it on the chorus. It’s not overly produced, and each element in the track really does contribute to the overall quality of the single, signifying that the London upstart has what it takes to become well received by those fortunate enough to listen to him.
