Cosmo's Midnight has been absent from HD for some time now, and truth be told, we don't really like that fact. The electrifying Sydney pair has blessed us with one wonderful remix after another for the better part of the past year, and though we're certainly happy to see them take off in the offline realm in addition to the one they've dominated online (they just recently wrapped up a slew of festival gigs), we're incredibly happy to see them back in the studio working on a fresh set of tunes. Today, they've one for us in "Snare" that features an R&B vocalist, Wild Eyed Boy, and we're pumped to announce that it'll lead off an upcoming EP of theirs set for release in the coming year. (Yes, you read that right. Get excited.) The track itself retains a bit of a mellow vibe throughout, and the brother-duo makes certain that their electronic gets held in check behind Wild Eyed's concise, satin-like lines. That's not to say that it's a non-factor, of course (it's nearly as groovy as on their former releases), but it's been leashed now and brushed with Wild's R&B to be smooth rather than spontaneous as it ordinarily is. Cosmo's goodness is still fully intact throughout, however, so there's nothing to worry about in that regard, but with a softer side of theirs now emerged, we're curious as ever to see what follows on their upcoming body of work.
