There are several champions of that chillwave-inclined, electronic-infused trap we've seen a lot of over the year, and Cosmic Quest is one such champion. His work with Molly Williams on "Water Winds", especially, captivated with incredible ease, and the laid-back atmosphere on it was something we've been lusting for ever since it first met our ear. Thankfully, we've another effort of his to immerse ourselves in, "Jade Cove", and its every bit as exotic as the standout track. With surreal synth chords, "Jade Cove" begins, and it's not long until the rattling hats and rhythmic, sometimes-billowing bass come next to give it its trap-laced medication. Stuttered instrumentation trends throughout the effort, too, and sparse vocal sampling sprinkles it, really adding to the deep, somewhat-downtrodden, somewhat-uplifting vibes of the track. It's a phenomenally ethereal listen, however you want to slice it, and we hope to someday see an EP or body of work expressing the kind of sonic energy.
