"The Ladder" is a new track from Common that's taken from HBO's Game of Thrones-inspired mixtape, Catch The Throne, that features the likes of Wale, Kilo Kish, Big Boi, and more. Usually when you get an artist to create a song around the themes of a television show, the end result either comes out awful, or somehow manages to work, against most sensible odds. In the case of Common with "The Ladder", he pulls off the later scenario with ease. For others on this mixtape, however, we can't say the same. If you do want to hear the rest of the mixtape, head on over to SoundCloud to hear the rest, and although we didn't feature it here, the Kilo Kish track is worth a listen for sure.
