Cold Clinical Love — Creepers ft. Kid Cudi (Rework)

Cold Clinical Love

Creepers ft. Kid Cudi (Rework)

Kid Cudi has become quite the divisive artist recently due to his unabashed willingness to experiment sonically, but regardless what you think about his vision, you'll have to agree his sound has found the perfect home in this new Cold Clinical Love rework. "Creepers" is expansive in all the best ways, and CCL's sound has really evolved into something pleasantly pallatable for all. The band's first track, "Bob Dylan", was a fantastically composed piece of indie-pop, but this latest track has upped the scale considerably, and the bigger basslines and sweeping builds really show off the group's diversity. There are elements in the song that feel very crisp and clear, but what makes this one such a success is all the undulating textures that live in the background of it. Kid Cudi's voice, the pulsing bass, and the big drum hits all sound as if they're coming from somewhere off in the distance, and the effect is mesmerizing if you crank the volume up to proper levels. Cold Clinical Love is still very much committed to the aura of mystery they've wrapped themselves in, so we still don't know a ton about them just yet, but we'll wait patiently for more information as it's released, because their work is good enough to warrant the anticipation.
