The Nashville four-piece, COIN, has not been around for long, but they sure have accomplished a lot in their short tenure. These purveyors of luminous indie-pop have three lead singles and a number of East Coast tours of the US under their belts, and have now decided to take it upon themselves to introduce a new generation to Simon & Garfunkel with their cover of “Cecilia”. Admittedly, we met this single with slight apprehension as “Cecilia” is a personal favourite of ours, but those concerns were swiftly quashed. COIN breathes new life into this folk-rock classic with the inclusion of a pronounced, jaunty guitar track and a well-rounded production value, all the while retaining the playfully harmonic nature of the original. Radiant, lively and just downright fun, COIN's cover of "Cecilia" is waiting for you to wrap your ears around it below.
