Last Friday marked the release of Coast Modern's indie-rock-filled debut album. The LA-based group has produced a wonderfully eclectic sample of their craft as musicians and people, reaching beyond modern music norms and combining a traditional indie-rock sound with experimental electronic instruments and sonic effects, and, as a result, we're featuring it—and highlights from it—here. Much of Coast's ideology stems from a desire to inspire others to create art and break the boundaries of everyday art forms, and, according to member Luke Atlas, he and his partner are "trying to show a bit more of their process and the realness of flowing with ideas instead of pretending to be something you’re not or trying to be cool". We're of course glad to hear their music can match, and our favorite tracks, "Guru", "Hollow Life", and "Call My Name", are all examples of a band pushing indie-rock.
