Club Kuru has been putting out impressive songs for a while now (see "Seesaw" to get an idea of what we're talking about), and his latest release, "Not For Me", continues the excellent trend. Though he used to just be a solo act, several band members have now been added since his last release, and the addition of new personnel has had a wonderful impact, indeed. In general, Club Kuru tends to favor analog, organic sounds, and "Not For Me" beautifully translates Erskine's sound into a four-piece band arrangement. Featuring lazy guitar hooks and crisp drum fills, the song beautifully blends modern production techniques with classic sounds and plaintive melodies, making it, in short, a laid-back summer sound that's sure to catch some buzz.
