Cleindl is a producer who has been making a splash in instrumental circles recently, with impeccable productions paced by intelligently intermittent releases (so as to not overwhelm us with an exorbitant amount of new material). "Mornings" and "Girl" forever turned us on to the Japanese-native when they came out, and yesterday's offering of "Want You Back" brings us again to the accessibly ethereal electronic he's championed. With looped vocals, energetic percussion, and plush background pads, Cleindl concocts another immersive atmosphere, keeping listeners engaged through an evolving tempo that fails to stale. We've come to expect this kind of flawlessness from the producer, though, which testifies to his absolutely brilliant abilities behind the boards, and we'd die to see what elongated soundscape he could up with for an EP or longer body of work.
