Of all the tracks you would expect to find here on HD, an electro-flavored French love song would probably not be near the top of your list. Nonetheless, this track from Cléa Vincent slipped under our radar when it was released eight months ago, and we regret that as we wish we could’ve shared its laid-back atmosphere with you sooner. We've it here now, though, and while we’re not in the know about the French language the artist grasps, we’ve found that the track's title translates to “hold my desire”—a fact leading us to believe that it's affection-themed. It’s hard not to notice the elastic-strung synths and raspy percussion that embody the tune, and alongside them, the vocals of Vincent sound nearly effortless, flowing naturally throughout the track. Towards the latter half of it, we’re enticed with much stronger synths that carry an addicting sound, and they finish out the work in a much brighter mood than that which was displayed in the beginning. “Retiens Mon Désir” and its accompanying music video are part of Vincent’s Non Mas Oui EP that was released by Parisian label Midnight Special, and despite the fact that we’ve missed the works of the talent in the past, they're certainly in the center of our screen now, and won’t be going away any time soon.
