Claire was born out of a studio session between four musicians in southern Munich, but it has since developed into something much more impressive than its humble roots would have you believe. Their sound exists somewhere in the no-man's-land between hip-hop, synth-pop, and experimental electronic, but if you think this lack of commitment to one discipline means their sound lacks focus, you would be very wrong. "My Audacity" starts off like a soft-edged indie-pop song with some polished production work, but instead of letting the vibe get too ethereal or light-hearted, they keep the track grounded with some hard-hitting beat work and a pace that has just a little bit more punch than your average indie-pop offering. Claire has been putting out quality material since their first EP, The Empire, that turned heads a couple years back, but they still seem to be in fine form with this latest release; and if they can keep putting out work of this caliber, they'll be enjoying even more success in the coming years as well. If you're looking for something a little less predictable, and a lot more creative than your average piece of synth-pop, "My Audacity" is exactly what you need.
