The Australian producer, Chu., took ears by wonderful surprise one month ago when he released his entrancing debut project, holidae holidae. The work captivated in effortless fashion, exuding unprecedented electronic spunk and soundscapes as beaming as the sun itself. There were a few favorites from the creative collection of tracks, most notably, the "New Dae" effort inaugurating the entire album, and I'd be lying if I said that I didn't still have it heavy in rotation. It appears that I was not the only individual abducted by the brilliance of the instrumental offering, though. LAKIM saw some potential in the effort of Chu.'s, beyond the ordinary enjoyment received from repeated listens, and what he did with the original is just downright funky. The electronically pulsating atmosphere existing on "New Dae" is stripped of its paced demeanor, and replaced wholly with an uptempo house vibe that's assured to inspire dance. I can't seem to shake the imagery of a futuristic dance or disco club with this song blaring beautifully in it, and though this accompanying video only partially supports that insight, it succeeds wonderfully in supplementing the kind of electrical ambiance the track offers.
