It's rare to hear an album that's wholly evocative, and it's rarer yet to hear one from a 22-year-old artist. A year after his critically acclaimed debut album, Choker makes his return with Honeybloom here. The LP is wonderfully composed, balancing slightly experimental production with a mesmerizing R&B style, and the way the artist takes his time on every track makes his music special, indeed. The qualities result in some Frank Ocean comparisons, but they shouldn't overshadow the individuality expressed as well. Hear our highlights, then get into the whole project.
