The number of newly emerging electro-pop duos is truly amazing, and the quality of their collective discography seems to only be getting better with time. Child Actor, though they've been releasing material for a few years now, has yet to achieve widespread popularity, but we've a feeling that's about to change very soon, especially if they have more songs as good as "Against The Night" ready for release. The married couple, Natalie Plaza (lead vocalist) and Max Heath (producer), emanate an incredibly polished aurora of electro-pop brilliance in "Against The Night", opening with a base of deep synths and an electrifying melody. The duo wastes no time adjusting the instrumental, however, throwing in a bout of fresh percussion and pumping synths while Natalie Plaza shines atop it all. Soulful piano chords, echoing claps, and enchanting strings appear in the rising moments of the chorus, and a bright array of synths and rapidly repeating percussion ensues. The track's meticulous production and glowing vocals makes it one of the finest works of electro-pop we've heard in some time, and with an album coming this summer, Child Actor appears ready to hit their stride and diffuse their greatness across the spectrum of the musical world.
