With the release of his latest EP, Music for Objects, due out in two days, Canadian electronic musician CFCF is setting himself as a trailblazer of sorts for where and what music can explore. Inspired by the everyday objects we take for granted in our lives, Music for Objects uses music to express the inexpressible with lush, densely layered beats that feel as if they were plucked straight out of a dream you can't quite remember. While the EP as a whole isn't really something you'd sit down and listen to in its entirety, the imagination that went into its production alone is worth checking out. Highlight track "Camera" builds and swells on its own layers, much like the nuances of a well-loved picture you can't help but smile to every time you see it. When the beat lifts up and kicks in, it's something special.
