Three months ago, we posted a track entitled "Funn", a song that marked the debut of the London-based duo, Cash+David. They were a bit of a mystery back then, but now with the release of their second song, "Pulse", they've decided to clear a few things up for us. We now know that they release music exclusively on their own label, +, online, that they initially bonded over a mutual adoration of "Bacon, Dylan Thomas and B movies", and that they claim to provide an "antidote to the manufactured, pre-packaged status quo". And while we're only offered a short summary of the duo, we can assure you that they're a new act you'll want to keep an eye on. With "Pulse", we see Cash+David branch off in a different direction than their first release, and, in doing so, they've effectively demonstrated their versatility early in their career. The genre-meshing, Eastern-influenced, indie-disco anthem possesses a totally unique vibe, complete with pulsing guitars, bongo drums, synthesizers, and unusual vocal chops, and while there are many more notable components, the euphonic vocals on the track deserve maybe the most mention of them all. As the saying goes, "once is luck, twice is skill", and Cash+David have asserted their indubitable musical dexterity with their second release here.
