Careful

Headlights; Mice-Like-Snowflakes

The experimental genre can sometimes be manipulated and taken out of context, almost giving it a solid defining sound, but the hard truth lies in the meaning of the word itself, which is something we simply can’t categorize. Eric Lindley expresses our claim elegantly, as he wanders fickly through genres like electronica and folk, giving rise to work that is rather mystifying in nature. Better known as "Careful", the singer-songwriter has been releasing work for over five quiet years, and is still not even close to receiving the attention he deserves. Careful's latest album,The World Doesn’t End, is something of a piece of art with its accumulation of ever-changing vocals, crackling sounds, faint electro beats, and an avalanche of feel-good instrumentation, and “Headlights” from it especially piqued our interest. Eric’s intense, enigmatic vocals take the spotlight on the track, and his deft use of phasing synths, white noise, and high-pitched, mirrored vocals wrap around his voice remarkably.
