It's a loping, head-nodding groove that's supported by sleek guitars and shimmering synths, and all alongside, vocalist Michelle Joy's alluring voice weaves in and out of the lush textures addressed. The trio describes their sound as "future boogie", and their excellent offerings prior to "Spells" back this up. With beautifully entrancing tracks like "Touch" and "Up All Night", Cannons introduced their distinct brand of funk to the world, and now with "Spells", they've further illustrated what massive potential they have lying in their songwriting acumen and distinct sonic style.
