With no prior hit or internet buzz to cling to, the Oxford-based collective and self-proclaimed makers of "lo-fi chic pop" are a fresh face; and, as "Not Kings" suggests, these up-and-comers have what it takes to push past the pulpit that is the manufactured conveyor belt of pop music. Acting as the highlight of their garage-recorded debut project, "Not Kings", finds itself in the number one track position, and rightfully so; it's arguably the best track on entire twelve-effort affair. The rest of the body of work is certainly worthy of your attention, too, but if you're looking to get into the band, "Not Kings" is the best place to start, with its well-manicured blend of pop, electronic, and alternative.
