Camp Claude — Trap

Camp Claude

Trap

Don't be misled by this song's title, because while the word "trap" has recently been used in music to describe a percussion heavy, hip-hop influenced genre, Camp Claude's newest offering has nothing to do with that particular category. Instead, the trio presents a fresh indie-pop style with a wide range of influences from France, England, Sweden, and America, and it won't take long for you to realize that this group is going to be one you'll definitely want to keep an eye on. Immediately, the female vocalist grabs your attention with her soulful croon that's complemented by bright synth chords and followed by a refreshing array of shakers, kicks, and what sounds like a deep bongo. They touch the piece up with smooth electric guitar plucks, and this sound persists for a while, but at the 1:44 mark, the producers decide to throw in a pristine set of blissful synths, adding an electro-pop feel to the track. With this good of a first offering, Camp Claude has definitely lured us into their trap and left us in great anticipation of their upcoming Hurricane EP.
