C H I L D R E N is a fairly undiscovered, Berlin-based trio that's been making music for over three years now. On their newest single, the group embraces their name to the fullest, writing about the bittersweet summers that children experience—the momentary bliss which casts a creeping shadow of imminent conclusion. Within much of today's world, people are overwhelmed with excessive work, having far too much to do and far too little time to accomplish these seemingly important tasks. When one gets caught up in this stressful cycle, he or she can forget about the joy of being carefree, the euphoria that a clear conscience can bring, and C H I L D R E N's newest song, "Cut", seems to represent the knowledge that this mindless happiness is often—unfortunately—temporary. You can choose to view "Cut" as a slice of dreamy summer vacation nostalgia, or simply a euphonic mellow tune, but, either way, C H I L D R E N has definitely supplied us with a track that's not only musically brilliant, but also possesses a sort of meaningful connection to most of our pasts.
