BUOY is beautiful, and her sounds are as well. The Sydney electronic-pop artist months ago entranced us with two pieces from what has become her debut EP, and, now, she's unveiled the other half of the project online. What material we've yet to hear till this point is just as stunning, profoundly fresh, and pretty as we could have hoped for, too, and we'd implore anyone with even a slightest interest in the genre to take a listen to the body of work. "Close/Open" is the first new track from the project that we're coming across here, and it's a weird, intriguing, and immersive piece with BUOY's floating vocals giving a sense of peace and utter sonic tranquility to it. The empowering piano melody in the background and uncanny percussion lends weight and appeal to the piece as well. "One Day" is the next and concluding effort on the four-track work, and it's enchanting in the best possible way. Again, unconventional-sounding percussion comes to accompany BUOY's mystifying voice, but nothing ever sounds "wrong" or "off" at all. With fantastic, HD-appearing artist Jack Grace helping to uplift her sounds with his co-writing and co-production throughout the body of work, too, everything sounds rather eccentric and correct. In its entirety, Immersion is a startling sleek, unusual, and pretty affair with all of the aforementioned components of it, and, perhaps more than most times, we're anxious to see where all of these wonderful sounds can propel the artist behind them—BUOY—in the coming, ever-uncertain times ahead.
