When you think of Tampa Bay and its history breeding successful rappers, you'll quickly come to realize that no one important really comes to mind. With the likes of Broderick Batts, however, a now-Los Angeles-based artist, the city's resume will have a new name to add it it, because with his new four-track EP, 2001 Odyssey, there's reason for Tampa Bay to claim his talent and hold it high to celebrate. Broderick's voice is smooth (he can sing, too), his cadence is effortless and quick, his production choice is spot-on, and there's not a single bad track on this project of his. We're pretty impressed with that fact, and we think that when you jump into the tracks below, you'll be inspired to agree.
