BROCKHAMPTON is, as member Kevin Abstract explains (and Pigeons & Planes reports), not a collective, but an "all-American boy band". There are multiple ways to think about that, of course, but, if we were to give it to you in the easiest way possible, they're a bunch of solo artists banded together by good music in genres that range especially wide. ALL-AMERICAN TRASH is their first mixtape together, and it's what's bringing them coverage today, as it's just been released and stands as a project that should not be passed up. The body of work features a collection of collaborative and solo work from a whole bunch of different artists (you can find out who's who on the PDF form that comes with the free download), and rap, soul, R&B, and even acoustic-led singer-songwriter material is feature on the work. It may sound like one of the most eclectic projects out, and it certainly is, but it's also excellent as well.
