When you first grab a glimpse of Brighter Later’s fresh single, “Brace,” you'll be treated to a pinging grouping of synths tightly trailed by more normalized electric guitar to introduce us to the Melbourne pair’s electro-pop sounds. Jaye Kranz fronts the track with small snippets of her on-point vocals, too, and off the back of them, the duo consisting of Kranz and collaborator Virginia Barr has garnished high praise from audio greats like Martha Wainright, who has added the group as a part of her Aussie tour. The guitar strums contained in the track are what truly captivate us, considering they help incite a certain sense of individuality that emanates from the group’s tone, and the mood elicited from them is one we haven’t heard too many times before. In addition, it’s hard to ignore the lighthearted clap and boom percussive beats that emerge in the effort's deep depths, as they round out it out perfectly. It’s mildly fascinating how the track is able to start with a lighter tone and build to a conglomeration that features more prominent percussion and heavier synths, only then to return to the surface that it began with, allowing the electric plucks to take command.
