Brave Shores is a brother-sister duo from Toronto, Canada, and they specialize in making electronic-pop that's loaded with all sorts of sunshine and summer heat. Granted, their here-highlighted "Never Come Down" is only their first song, but we can already tell they've got something special under their belts. The track, taken from Bell Sony Xperia commercial, starts off quick right out of the gates, and it doesn't slow down until that last guitar note is hit at the 2:24 mark. "Never Come Down" is definitely a pop offering of sorts, so it's got all of the things you've come to expect from such an effort within the genre; there's a couple catchy lyrics that get repeated throughout the song, and the hook is out there for all to hear. That being said, don't knock this one because you think you're more into experimental lo fi folk-rock at the moment. The last time we checked, summer pop is always a welcome listen when you're in the mood for a sonic pick me up. To top it all off, though, "Never Come Down" is just objectively good. It's well-made, and the members have resisted the urge to polish the production work to a mirror finish, making the final product slick, but not so slick that you miss out on all the little textures that make the song so enjoyable on subsequent replays. Brave Shores has an EP coming out soon, so we're gonna keep our radar locked on the two for future releases (we were a little late to the party on this single, admittedly), but in the meantime, "Never Come Down" is going to be enjoying some pretty consistent time on our HD playlists while we wait for what's next.
