I Wanna Get Better

Bleachers' debut single, "I Wanna Get Better", seems to have a vaguely brit-pop vibe (maybe it's the fuzzy vocals), but speculation aside, the song is 100% anthemic alt-rock gold with some major production value, as well as a chorus that will have you singing along by your second listen. There's nothing experimental about this one; the synth textures and filler sounds are all artfully crafted to make the track seem as analogue as possible. It's a sneaky tactic, using modern technology to make a track seem nostalgic, but it's been perfectly executed on this one, and earns it an aesthetic that's deceptively simple, yet instantly enjoyable. The piano chords that stab their way through the hook add just the right amount of brightness to the piece, and Jack Antonoff's (also of Fun.) artistic vision channels a lot of that same wide-open sound that made his band's latest album such a huge hit.
