Iowa native Billy Lemos is a new name to us, but he is proving to be a notable one on debut EP SELF. The four-track project is a genre-less, exceptionally creative body of DIY music, and, though no song is over two minutes, they're each meticulous and highly dense (some songs even contain two parts). Throughout the EP, Billy collaborates with a plethora of unique and unknown artists, a process that has resulted in an highly appealing meshing of styles. Although the songs might sound incomplete at times, their authenticity deserves attention. (Check Frank Ocean-like "PERFECT // HOWUFEEL".)
