With Billie Eilish's rise to superstardom, all eyes are on her to spearhead the new generation of pop. For an act who caught her break via a singer-songwriter ballad, however, progression will be imperative. She's certainly given efforts in both fields, though, and, with her latest track, she fuses both (and some soul) to give us an emotion punch. "When the party's over" is a gorgeous musical achievement, and the level of emotional depth, raw talent, and creativity in it prove Billie and brother FINNEAS can become generation-defining acts. On top of appealing to her core audience, Billie is making brilliant new music the standard, so let's enjoy this one, and let's hope we don't have to wait too long to hear what else she has up her sleeve.
