It seems to have been no time since we stumbled across "Ocean Eyes", but, in the following year and a half, Billie Eilish has quickly climbed her way up to her spot as one of pop's next big acts. Alongside her brother, Finn, she has managed to create pop songs that are catchy, fun, and serious in the depth department as well, and all these tracks are now culminating into her very first EP, dont smile at me. This eight-track project is one of the year's tightest in terms of quality, and you really will not find a bad or boring song on the entirety of the EP—one which flows consistently from its beginning to end. Although most of the tracks had already been released, "hostage" is one that's brand-new, and it may be her most stripped-down, heaviest song yet.
