Down To The Sound

UK producer Bibio released The Green EP yesterday, a follow-up, in his words, centered around his favourite track, "Dye The Water Green", from his previous album, Silver Wilkinson. Unfortunately, the EP itself comes across as slightly unfinished, almost as an afterthought, which, in this case, maybe it is. "Dye The Water Green" is not a new track, and, combined with the fact that some of the other tracks on the EP are mostly experimental/instrumental, you can take a glass half full/glass half empty approach: it's either too empty, or it perfectly allows the best track of the EP to completely standout. "Down To The Sound" is the complete embodiment of Bibio's more indie/acoustic side, eschewing any of his electronic/experimental tendencies, and to great effect. This song is as resonant as they come, filling the early morning hours and sticking in your head long after you've left the house to go about your day. If you were a fan of Silver Wilkinson, this song will continue the love affair. Take a listen below.
