After placing second in Vancouver's Peak Performance Contest (sad face), indie-rock up-and-comers BESTiE are at it again, and this time they’ve teamed up with none other than On Planets for their latest remix (happy face). On planets has become a favorite here at Hillydilly since the release of his phenomenal first EP, 2, and all that smooth flowing sound which brought his original mixes to life makes an appearance here, too. BESTiE makes music that’s not particularly rushed or high-strung, opting instead for records that manage to stay relaxed while retaining just the right amount of energy to keep things moving in the right direction. With such a great sound foundation to work with, all On Planets needed to do was infuse his signature rounded-off flow into the composition, and the result was almost guaranteed to be a hit. The final product is almost tropical in tone, and jives perfectly with the ultra crisp production and colorful sounds sprinkled throughout.
