Within the endless current of new music, it’s difficult for anyone to keep up with all that’s coming out. To combat this ongoing influx of sound, we publish our “Best New Artists of the Month” articles in the hopes that you never miss out on the outstanding new artists emerging in recent times. For us, however, the South African-born, Australian-based individual's latest EP, WILD, is really signaling his arrival on the scene. While his debut EP in 2014 netted him some attention, there's no question that his new body of work is the one that's going to bring undeniable stardom to his name. Alongside fast-rising production counterpart Alex Hope (we're tipping her to become a very big deal soon) you can hear his chart-topping potential in tracks like "WILD" and "FOOLS", and, from his writing to the production we just mentioned, there's no denying how great his pop records are. Louis Mattrs [track id="00950866" artist="Louis Mattrs" title="Superman"] Listen once to Louis Mattrs' latest single, "Superman", and you'll understand in an instant why we're pegging the incredible talent as one of the best new artists from the UK this year (there have been many). It's one thing to have a great voice, but if you've the hit-level production, style, flair, and addicting vocal inflections that Louis has, it's only obvious that he's going to be a hit-maker for some time to come. Lawrence Taylor [track id="00950109" artist="Lawrence Taylor" title="Bang Bang"][track id="00950905" artist="Lawrence Taylor" title="Chains"] Lawrence Taylor is another amazing talent from the UK. He's shown his propensity for hits with tracks "Bang Bang" and "Chains"—the former of which has been played on Beats 1 and been used in a Tom Ford ad—and with a debut EP on the way, it's only a matter of time before he'll find himself talked about as one of the country's best new acts. Tom Bailey [track id="00950895" artist="Tom Bailey" title="Wishin'"][track id="00950822" artist="Tom Bailey" title="Renaissance"] If you're looking for the next big artist in soul, Tom Bailey is a name you want to know. He's been on a tear recently with three great new tracks, and with his latest, "Wishin'", especially, you'll get a clear sense as to why he's truly a talent to behold. Royaume [track id="00950908" artist="Royaume" title="Blue Asphalt"] With only one track to their name, Royaume, a new duo from Paris, is absolutely fresh, but where their lack of experience and material is made up for is in their gorgeous debut, "Blue Asphalt". Within it, their unique sound and potential is uncovered, and even though we've not heard any of their forthcoming material just yet, we're willing to roll the dice on the pair by stamping our approval on them. PLUM [track id="00950783" artist="PLUM" title="Silver Second"] PLUM is one of several artists from New Zealand who has emerged in the last few months, but we think she's destined to become far more than just an online thing. Her Alex Hope-produced track, "Silver Second", is one that shows what amazing potential she has, and we really can't wait to hear what tracks she comes out with next.
