Within the endless current of new music, it’s difficult for anyone to keep up with all that’s coming out. To combat this ongoing influx of sound, we publish our “Best New Artists of the Month” articles in the hopes that you never miss out on the outstanding new artists emerging in recent times. Wonder Wonder [track id="00947813" artist="Wonder Wonder" title="Body Gold"] [track id="00948111" artist="Wonder Wonder" title="Shark"] Releasing one song a month for an entire year is not an easy thing for anyone to do, but that's what London duo Wonder Wonder is trying to accomplish. Their artistic adventure started with "Body Gold" on September 1st, and now today, they've unleashed their second sonic entry in "Shark". Both songs are incredibly written, and they're tender, vintage-sounding affairs that have the two singing often in tandem over downtempo, dimly lit production. It's impossible not to fall in love with the members and what they're doing with their work, and we've no reason to suspect that they'll be unable to keep their amazing pace alive. Laurasia [track id="00947929" artist="Laurasia" title="Rainmaker"] When we stumbled across Laurasia's "Rainmaker" earlier this month, we felt as if we had found a $100 bill on the ground. The Brisbane duo's debut song is about as good as it gets in terms of finding brand-new, top-notch electro-pop, and quite frankly, we're surprised the track hasn't received anymore love than it has. We fell instantly in love with member Nathan Morrison's stripped-down sound and choppy, robotic-sounding synths—and Jessica Wigglesworth's pristine vocals, too, aided in our affection towards the track. Its catchy chorus, warm electric guitar inclusions, and background chants secure it as a certified hit, so make sure you take full advantage of the debut and what's sure to come after. - written by Cole Ryan Yellerkin [track id="00948030" artist="Yellerkin" title="Tools"] Although NYC two-piece Yellerkin released their debut EP last year, we're thinking that with the release of their latest song, "Tools", that the pair will come to know the popularity their music deserves. It's quite easily their best track to date, and we've no doubts that it'll vault the two to heralded heights if properly disseminated. Now, Yeller's debut EP was a good listen, don't get us wrong, but we're just loving "Tools" to an incredible degree, and we think that with this sound will come a newfound success for the act. Whereas the former body of work featured a more mellow, lo-fi indie-rock sound, "Tools" is a much more engaging listen that features addicting melodies and a crescendoing, power-packed bridge at the end that's plain huge. We're not even sure most people stuck around for that when listening to the effort, but if you've yet to hear it, make sure you do, because it's fantastic. - written by Chad Hillard. Sylas [track id="00948108" artist="Sylas" title="Shore"] [track id="00947996" artist="Sylas" title="Hollow"] You may notice that we’ve labeled a number of premiering artists here as top acts in their respective genres and realms. Well, we’ve a liking for Aesop Label’s newest up-and-comers, Sylas, for the simple fact that they don’t one-up the rest in any particular genre, but instead have worked successfully to pave their own genre-related path. We wasted no time reporting on their first single, “Hollow”—lauding its sonic experimenting with slight psychedelic vibes—and their follow-up, “Shore”, exhibited a similarly intriguing sound. We’re anticipating more thoroughly unusual (but enjoyable) works from the London duo in the days to come, and we hope their future sounds will provide us with tools to help crack their artistic code—as it's as mysterious as attractive. - written by Addison Lynch Hatch [track id="00947868" artist="Hatch" title="New Direction"] [track id="00946826" artist="Hatch" title="Everybody Loves The Sunshine (Roy Ayers Cover)"] Hatch has been releasing covers and remixes for over a year now, and though he's acquired some attention from the works, the Sydney-based producer finally seems to have found a more distinct, polished sound with his newest (and aptly titled) offering, "New Direction". By merging softer elements of electronic with some heavier trap elements, Hatch has been able to craft a likable, simply enjoyable sound, and if he continues to dictate future tracks with a similar sonic formula, we'll be able to see the artist inundating our pages with more of his marvelous works. - written by Cole Ryan
