LEISURE [track id="00949731" artist="LEISURE" title="Got It Bad"][track id="00950051" artist="LEISURE" title="Hot Love"] LEISURE only popped up recently, but we're already quite confident that they're one of the best new acts to emerge from the talent-laden land of New Zealand. The group's debut single, "Got It Bad", was our first encounter with their groovy blend of funk, indie, and psychedelic-rock, and within just two months, not only has LEISURE created some serious buzz throughout the blogosphere, but they've also signed to Lorde's old management group, Saiko. It only took a month for them to follow up with another great new track, "Hot Love", and we can't wait to hear what more they have for us in store. - written by Cole Ryan. Wray [track id="00950146" artist="Wray" title="I Am A Loner"] Oftentimes, it's difficult for us to decide which brand-new acts will fit into the highly selective mix here on the site. However, when we come across artists as talented as Wray, we never have to think twice; her vocals are some of the most exquisite we've heard in some time, and the fact that she also produced her debut single, "I Am A Loner", is enough to leave us speechless. We can't imagine that an artist as talented as herself would simmer out after such a spectacular release, so be sure to keep an ear out for what next she has to offer to us. - written by Cole Ryan. kiiara [track id="00950128" artist="kiiara" title="Gold"] Few tracks rise in popularity with the quickness that "Gold", the debut track from Los Angeles' kiiara, did, after its internet drop two weeks ago. The song has now amassed over 250K plays, and along with each play was likely every A&R on the planet emailing her. Kiiara currently works as a hardware store clerk now, but now she's likely never going to have to fill out a resume again. - written by Chad Hillard Ever So [track id="00950082" artist="Ever So" title="Not Over You"] Perhaps the most dance-ready song we heard this past month came from a completely new act: Ever So. Once we discovered the Sydney-based duo's debut single, "Not Over You", a few weeks back, it's been on heavy rotation amongst us at HD. Though the production here is undoubtedly excellent, the fact that the vocals are equally great gives this group a massive boost above plenty of acts, so get ready to hear more of their upbeat sounds in the future. - written by Cole Ryan. Xan Young [track id="00950172" artist="Xan Young" title="Passion"] When dropping a debut track, you can mull over countless ideas as to how you're going to get people to listen to your sounds, but what really matters is how good the music is. With Xan Young, a mysterious no-info artist who we had the pleasure of premiering a debut track from last week, we'd say that he has the kind of track that makes people take notice immediately. We've only heard the one work from him thus far, but it's more than enough to put some bets on him becoming more than just an internet thing ahead. - written by Chad Hillard Loren Kramar [track id="00950079" artist="Loren Kramar" title="My Life"] Loren Kramar was famously featured on the unveiling for Apple Music's long-awaited music streaming service (they shared a snippet of his "My Life"). However, shortly after the Apple buzz subsided, the chatter died down quite considerably. To stick out, you need just that extra edge to rise above your contemporaries in the eyes and ears of the masses, and with Ofelia K, another rising artist from Los Angeles, we've the complete package.
