To combat this ongoing influx of sound, we publish our “Best New Artists of the Month” articles in the hopes that you never miss out on the outstanding new artists emerging in recent times. XYLØ [track id="00949302" artist="XYLØ" title="America"] The potential for XYLØ, a Los Angeles-based pop duo, is obvious. With an iconic-sounding debut track like their "America", we've the kind effort that has kids rushing to make XYLØ fan pages on Twitter (we've already seen a few) despite the fact that they've only this one track. As their plays continue to rack up, however, so will the fever pitch for new music, and, eventually, worldwide touring. Make no mistake that XYLØ is a duo here to stay. - written by Chad Hillard Pooltheory [track id="00949309" artist="Pooltheory" title="The Dreamer"] The debut track, "The Dreamer", from Los Angeles act Pooltheory has the all the makings of a summer classic. When you play the song, you instantly feel like you're doused in sunrays with wind at your back and not tied to any form of technology, and when you've music that makes you feel this way, there's no way it's not going to pick up fans like flies to a light at night. We definitely expect the no-info act to continue to release new music, and when they do, we're equally expecting them to rise up from the ranks of internet-sensation to one of the best new acts in music as a whole. - written by Chad Hillard Demo Taped [track id="00949251" artist="Demo Taped" title="Your Touch"][track id="00949238" artist="Demo Taped" title="I Luv U"][track id="00949250" artist="Demo Taped" title="Cozy"] When we stumbled across Demo Taped's first finished track, "I Luv U", his superb production and distinctive vocals were enough for us to throw him in the mix with some of the best electronic-soul artists in today. A couple of days later, we heard the remainder of the 17-year-old phenom's Heart EP, and we knew for a fact that Adam Alexander (Demo Taped) would not remain hidden for very long. Alexander, who battles depression, has embarked on a mission to promote love and happiness in the world, so he's created a highly groovy and joyously warm three-track EP dedicated to "Her". We're incredibly glad that's he done just that, because Heart has become one of our favorite EPs we've heard in a while. -written by Cole Ryan nite swim [track id="00949341" artist="nite swim" title="Pool Party"] Nite swim made quite the first impression with their debut single, "Pool Party". The smoothly grooving, synth-laden piece immediately jumped out at us as a new favorite, so we weren't necessarily surprised to learn that two experienced artists, Cary Singer and Aaron Childs, were responsible for the track. Though we don't have any information on future releases from the pair, we're incredibly excited to see what nite swim's next move is, and if the guys have more songs as good as "Pool Party" up their collective sleeve, then they'll be getting some massive attention soon enough. -written by Cole Ryan
