Within the endless current of new music, it’s difficult for anyone to keep up with all that’s coming out. To combat this ongoing influx of sound, we publish our “Best New Artists of the Month” articles in the hopes that you never miss out on the outstanding new artists emerging in recent times. Rationale [track id="00949679" artist="Rationale" title="Fast Lane"] Although Rationale's debut single, "Fast Lane", has only been out for two weeks, we only needed one listen to the track to get an idea of just how talented the artist behind it is. His unique, soulful vocals are an instant attention-grabber, and we ended up being equally impressed with the laid-back production behind his voice. After already racking up a quarter of a million plays on SoundCloud and topping the Hype Machine charts, Rationale appears to have an incredibly bright future ahead of him, and we're anticipating more great tunes on his EP coming this summer. Mai Kino [track id="00949616" artist="Mai Kino" title="Burn"] It isn't easy to stand out as a new electro-pop artist nowadays, but Lisbon-born, London-located artist Mai Kino has managed to do so in a seemingly effortless way. On her debut single, "Burn", Mai croons her way softly through an array of fresh synths and percussion, and the resulting effort is inspiring and incredibly bright. We don't know when exactly we'll be hearing more music from her, sadly, but we've a strong feeling that she has plenty more excellent works in store for us, so we'll be waiting with bated breath. YATES [track id="00949603" artist="YATES" title="VIRTUE"] We've been following along with YATES' music for a few months now, and although we've been impressed with the Australian's first two offerings, it wasn't until we heard his latest track, "VIRTUE", that we realized the true potential he has. A lot of artists create good music, but a lot of times, too, you can tell it won't ever go past just being an online thing. With the creative and unique sound of "VIRTUE", though, YATES not only has a great song on his hands, but it's evident that his sound deserves to move beyond the internet entirely and into more intimate and appreciated space. mAsis [track id="00949123" artist="mAsis" title="Make Me Higher"][track id="00949597" artist="mAsis" title="Pop Rocks"][track id="00949598" artist="mAsis" title="Salt"] Perhaps the most creative, tasteful, and impressive pop we heard this month came from Californian trio mAsis. Their first single, "Make Me Higher", was a work of dreamy, downtempo brilliance, and it strongly sparked our interest in the group about three months ago. However, once we laid ears on the rest of their debut EP, Kennesaw, we knew that we were witnessing the work of one extraordinary group. Make sure you give the entire EP of theirs a listen, because it's certainly one of the most promising debut projects we've heard in quite some time. SIBA [track id="00949737" artist="SIBA" title="UR MY <3"] We originally posted SIBA's second-ever track,"UR MY <3", on a slow Saturday, so we're not even sure you guys have heard this track yet. If that happens to be the case, however, feast your ears on it now, because it might just be one of your favourite new tracks. "UR MY <3" is the kind of track that slowly creeps into your head and stays there. The production is alluring and deceptively addicting (that deep synth used is fantastic), and alongside his vocals with their created pitch manipulations, there's much to love. We suspect that with the success of the track (it's now at 7K+ plays and counting), SIBA's music will be able to snowball into bigger and better things.
