With what we’d describe as “world” music, the London-based outfit Benin City has been serenading the internet for well over a few years now. As far as us featuring them, though, “Bus” is the first time we’ve had the pleasure of doing so. In the past, we didn’tquite jive with their sound, but this time around, we’re immediately drawn to their latest effort, one in which the trio enacts quite the whirlwind of sounds. If you’ve been like us and a bit on the fence with these guys, now’s your best chance to get over to their side, no question. “Bus” is a single impossible to ignore, and, coming in the wake of their upcoming Midnight Malarky EP (releasing June 23rd on OMD Recordings), it serves as an indication of what marvelous material is to follow.
