HD-favorite Nicholas Basquiat has consistently dazzled us with his ability to remix songs from different wings of the electronic spectrum, and now, to inaugurate his new moniker, "Foynes", the Australian has transformed a house piece by Beni entitled “Protect”. In this revamp, Nicholas strips the vocals and a few bass elements from the original, electing to inject a series of tantalizing synths to give it a persuasive, veneer coating of its own. The drums, simple in their sequence, are exquisitely edited and thickened, and as a result, they've a fortifying aura that extends to the vocals of Antony & Cleopatra and adds an authoritative buoyancy throughout.
