In our write-up for the new Gold Fields song, "Hold Me", we mentioned that that there's a small group of artists that really have the tropical-house formula down—and Thomas Jack is certainly one of the most prominent names within this group. The Australian producer has built himself a massive following, mostly by releasing upbeat, optimistic remixes, and with over 100,000 followers on SoundCloud, anything this guy releases is going to get some serious attention. Jack usually selects light, folk-like tracks for his remixes, and Ben Sollee's cello-fueled piece, "Letting Go", is an ideal sample for Thomas here to work with. The song is comprised of the quintessential house elements: a pumping beat, some chopped vocals, and several electronic nuances, but the distinct sound of the cello gives "Letting Go" the unique touch it needs, and we're seriously digging the effort as a result.
