If Becky Hill wasn't on your shortlist of artists that are poised to rise above the rest in the UK, you best change your perception, because as her brand-new, MNEK-produced single, "Losing", proves, it won't be long until she's out of "coming-up" circles and into blossomed, certified pop-star ones. The best part about "Losing" is the fact that it sounds like nothing of the photocopied-pop variety in any sense. Part of that is due to MNEK's rushing, percussive-heavy, soaring production that really sets the stage, no doubt, but really championing everything here is Becky's triumphant vocals that simply power through the mix with a poignancy that few can match (especially on the chorus). There's really a sense of something special found within this effort of hers, and we've no doubts that this is going to instigate a trend as Becky moves toward her debut album that will likely drop in the new year.
