This isn't the first time we've laid our ears on upbeat, synth-laden sounds from BAYNK, whose originals (and remixes) are usually imbued with tropical tones that are a hallmark of his electronic sound, and the trend endures here on "What You Need", where he weaves prickly electronic through the vocal chops of fellow New Zealander NÏKA. The cherry sound that results is a slick one, but it's the track's wavering feel backed by lighter, drawn-out sections that really has our interest perked. We'll be on the lookout for more BAYNK of this kind - hopefully very soon.
