We cannot stress how difficult it is to make a pop song that stands out in a world where everyone is competing for the next smash, and, of course, the additional temptation to make records that appeal to the lowest common denominator factors in as well. On her new single, "Hot Water", however, LA singer BAUM sticks to her guns and makes an intelligent, fun, and stupidly catchy song. It rides the '80s groove that has dominated the market since the millennium, and it does so in a tasteful way. Our favorite moment of the track has to be the explosion and rawness of her voice at that first chorus, and we encourage you to hit play and check it out. Hopefully more is soon to come.
