Known to deliver on a consistent basis, Tennessean three-piece BASECAMP has been off of the radar the past half of a year in terms of having any fresh work to share, but now they've finally stepped out of their drought with a dazzling cover of Genesis' "In Too Deep" that's been called "N2DEEP", and we're absolutely smitten with the results. Renovating a Genesis piece is certainly no walk in the park, especially on the vocal wing, as Aaron Miller adds his alleviating touch to the original while paying his respects to Collins in superb fashion. The production upholds a plodding, tom-heavy introduction that sees an alluring sway of inclusions as it progresses, and an aura unquestionably representative of BASECAMP emerges as a result. The vocals remain in the limelight throughout the piece, but with astute, ethereal percussive elements weaving in an out, the essence of the track is nothing short of BASECAMP's specialty: absolute sonic eloquence.
