The mark of an amazing artist or band is when they're able to morph their sound while still maintaining elements of their previous efforts. BASECAMP came onto the scene a few years ago with a brooding, mystic R&B sound, and they have transitioned on the brand-new "In My Veins" from that aforementioned style to a pulsing, deep house-soul-rap medley (the track was organized by the people at Red Bull Sound Select). Dedicated listeners of theirs probably never imagined hearing a club-ready cut from the Nashville group, but here one is, and it's simply cool. Despite the heavy production value on the new piece, lead singer Aaron Miller's soulful vocal remains the focus, as he trades verses with awesome UK R&B artist Billie Black and also the legend, Del the Funky Homosapien. The end result is like nothing any of the these three collaborating artist have produced on their own, and that certainly makes it all the more special of a piece. BASECAMP released their Greater Than EP earlier this year, as did Billie Black with her This Simple Pleasure one. Del the Funky Homosapien released his eleventh solo studio album, Iller Than Most, back in 2014. Let's hope we hear more from all these impressive artists in times ahead.
