Baro hasn't necessarily made a huge name for himself yet, but that might not be the case for much longer. If it wasn't for his feature on Tigerilla's latest track, "You Are", we wouldn't have seen his name until now, but in his new single, "Bears", the 18-year-old Melbourne-based artist has created the type of warm, summery hip-hop that will undoubtedly gain him some huge attention. Ever since Shwayze and Aer epitomized what we can rightfully call "summer-rap", we've heard more than our fair share of corny imitations, and though Baro's new Venus Court-featuring release does somewhat remind us of both of the aforementioned projects (that's not a bad thing on its own), it certainly comes off as genuine and original enough. Beachy guitar chords and tropical percussion constitute the majority of the instrumental, and Baro ties every sonic element together brilliantly with some smooth verses and one highly addictive chorus. Definitely get familiar with the artist through his new track below, and keep high in your mind the fact that his debut EP is expected to be released sometime next month. [via P&P]
