What were you doing at sixteen? If you're like us, you probably weren't doing anything particularly impressive. Here at Hillydilly, we are seeing the age of breakthrough artists drop lower and lower, yet, they all possess a staggering amount of talent. An argument could be made that there's just more musical aptitude these days, yet, some could say that it has always existed and there are just more avenues to be noticed as well. Regardless, it's the fans, undoubtedly, who win out, as we become exposed to arrays of new artists like Baker Grace. Sixteen-year-old Chloe Baker is the voice behind Baker Grace, and, though this is technically her debut, this is not her first foray into music. Having previously released music with Bitter’s Kiss, an indie-pop duo created with her father, Chloe has stepped from that foothold with the release of her first solo single, “Am I Talking To You?”, featured here. On the track, we find the production to be minimal, as light guitar and synchronous percussion set a very delicate tone, and, because of that, this folk-pop single is a beautifully stripped affair.
